On Friday February 26, 2021, our branch received notice to be suspended until further review from national office. With this suspension, we cannot work hard to support and fight for the rights of our community. With your support and signatures, we can show national that our Jersey City Branch do a lot for our community and our Branch is needed for everyone's fight for Civil Rights.

Our Jersey City NAACP Branch President Rev. Nathanial B. Legay has resigned due to the outlandish push from a small group of individuals within the local organization who has pried into him and his wife's personal life and push negativity to others which are NOT true. He is a respected and well humbled person who only wants what is right for our community.

We provide support for the Veterans, Food distribution, Housing Assistance and Complaints, Employment assistance, Voter Registration, Mentor to Youth programs, Legal Referrals, Labor & Industry, and much more programs. These are just a few programs that our local Branch assist with the community and all in Jersey City for Equal opportunities for all Minorities.

We need your support to provide signatures to show our National NAACP President and Board members that we are strong and we fight for civil rights in Jersey City.

Updates

March 7, 2021

The national office is still ignoring our demands while our community services remain frozen in place. They think they can silence our local branch without explanation but we are not going anywhere until they reverse this suspension.

It sad that we already have to deal with the police as being a black race but now we have to deal with each other in house as black on black crime this is so ridiculous you guys are supposed to be representatives of us but you’re fighting amongst each other trying to tear one another down this is so sad

Please save our Jersey City NAACP branch. It is a shame that a group has got the NAACP Charter suspended.

The NAACP is a pillar of the community. It is here to help all that have had their civil rights violated.
