The council is keeping quiet on the proposal but your emails are forcing them to draft a response. Send a formal letter to the General Manager at the Rosny Park office today to ensure they cannot ignore our concerns. Call your local councillors this afternoon and demand they protect our access to the beach trails.

The momentum behind this effort has shifted the conversation at the council level. Now is the time to act by emailing your local representative directly to demand they protect our access to these trails.

Is there any protection for existing users of the recreation area under State or Federal legislation?
What happened to the 7 Mile Beach management plan that was being developed? I am certainly at odds with a development of this magnitude on what is traditionally and supposed to be a community recreation area, and protected area!? Two 18 hole golf courses and many many buildings - certainly doesn't leave much room left for community. I do get to enjoy this little piece of heaven from a horse; this area is special to so many riders from near and far. When council considers their huge horse population and 'related economy' in the area they must surely consider our wishes.
Go develop somewhere else, this is an important historical icon for current recreational users and equine riders, plus is a natural environment for birds, hope your land capability survey acknowledges this, so many other places which could be developed and you choose this one with limited beach and access for the public, don't get it
There are golf courses and resorts all over Tasmania - there are not many areas and especially beaches where we have access with our horses for recreational purposes. Don't take this away from us.
Horse riding trails are few and far between in Tasmania. This is a great area for children to ride and learn.
I object to this, it is unfair to the community
Please save this beach access for riders. It is the only place we can take our horses on the beach, and it is so beautiful.

On many a lonely Christmas day 5 & 7 beaches have been a ground zero for restoring my spirit and my bond with Toby, my horse. Rezone this and I am condemned to main roads of festive frenzy families. There is more to life the and its where water meet earth.
