I have had the pleasure of skating on this rink with the South Coast derby team and I think it is shameful to take away a space that hosts for a unique and diverse sport in favor of a trendy activity that has rapidly been losing traction. I urge that the track remains as a safe and equitable space for skaters to continue to use in the future. Pickle ball can be played literally anywhere else, derby needs specific spaces/sizes.

Shared use is more inclusive in any community! Having spaces for specific sports excludes a large part of the residents!!!

I'm 10 years when pickleball courts sit with dirt and grass filled cracks from underuse due to people finding a new trend sport, the city it's going to have to spend more money to build something new when they could have accommodated a 20 years old sport that is still going strong along with other sports. Keep spaces inclusive for multi-sport use instead of a niche trend sport that is mostly played by the upper class. #spacesforall

very short sighted to refashion this court for a singular sport of extreme privilege that's the poster child for bad sportsmanship. pickleballers are never beating the colonizer allegations.
