I strongly oppose the closure of the Grassroots Centre as I have two children who attend Barney Bears Nursery within the centre and will be stuck for alternative childcare. Not only that you will be breaking up friendships made between the children and will put them in the position of having to settle into a new environment.

This is disgusting, a lot of people rely on this service so they can work, instead of living off the state.

Grassroots childrens centre must not close. Barney Bears nursery is one of only 2 nurseries in the Stratford/West Ham area which has been rated "Good" by Ofsted. They provide a fantastic service at a crucial time in children's lives It would be an extremely poor reflection on Newham council if they were to get rid of these services and would highlight that the only things that matter to the council are costs and profitability and not the well being its constituents.

The Children centre must be kept open especially when the government is advocating for parents to go to work. These are places parents send their children and they know the children are safe. The children also learn and are more happier been in this centre than alternative arrangement( e.g. with a child minder)

Grassroots and other children's centres like it should remain open, for children and their families to gain invaluable support and knowledge in order for their child to grow and develop.
I am a staff member at Barney Bears, and the nursery has always valued partnership with parents and supporting children's development and their families. A nursery such as this in the borough of Newham or any borough is invaluable to children's development. We are giving the tools to children and the support to be the future citizens of this community.
Children learn the most between the ages of 0-7, and cutting off resources such as children's centres, nursery's etc. is cutting off learning experiences at the heart of it.

We are very dependent on the nursery for my son as we are working parents. It will hugely impact us if the nursery closes. Kindly consider our petition. Thank you.
