The council backed down and preserved our centres. I am drained from this fight but heartened that our community refused to be ignored. I will be watching closely to ensure they keep their word.

We the undersigned, do not support the councils current plans for Newham Children's Centre's, including the discontinuation of services at Abbey Lane Children's Centre.

Our borough is already disadvantaged & the changes proposed will put us at an even greater disadvantage. Parents with younger children & siblings will lose out!

Furthermore, children's centre's are already over crowded & the changes mean that some children will be denied access to important services that allow them to develop & be ready for school.

The proposals mean less staff & resources for children & parents.

Children centres are great places for parents to get advice, share common knowledge, for children to develop communication skills & learn how to interact with other children.

Our children are the future of this community, city & this country.

Cutting budgets from local services that they access will hurt our community. If anything, the council should be increasing funding to children's centres to continue to improve outcomes for children, not reduce funding.

Seeing this grow despite the exhausting nature of this fight reminds me why we started. The path forward remains steep but our collective resolve is finally forcing the council to look in our direction.

What will this achieve? Does the local council want parents to just sit at home with their children? Budget cuts is not going to sort problems out. Instead you are playing games with a child future.

I strongly oppose the closure of the Grassroots Centre as I have two children who attend Barney Bears Nursery within the centre and will be stuck for alternative childcare. Not only that you will be breaking up friendships made between the children and will put them in the position of having to settle into a new environment.

My childminder takes my son to the children's centre and he's learnt to interact with other children and is so happy when she takes him there. Please don't close them big mistake. You want parents to work yet your making it hard for us. Then when we go on the dole you complain we have to work.

Pls save the north woolwich centre because it's one out of a million to help the community, it's help parents and carers from all nations with their children, we don't have no where else to go near by that can help the community in all areas.

Childrens centres in newham are full to bursting on some sessions, with the risk of centres closing loads of familys will not be able to attend. The nutrition advise you get is excellent and the staff know so much and give brilliant advise.
