We support Latino Books Y Mas We feel that Mr. John Wessman is unfairly targeting for eviction Latino Books Y Mas. Latino Books Y Mas is current in all lease payments. Latino Books Y Mas has a “rock solid” lease until April of 2015. Latino Books Y Mas is the only general bookstore in the greater Palm Springs area. Latino Books Y Mas is the only general bookstore that sells books to the area high schools including Palm Springs High. These books are used in the AP and Honor classes. Latino Books Y Mas is a cultural center. Latino Books Y Mas does book readings at elementary schools through their character Nacho Libro. Latino Books Y Mas was awarded the “Palm Springs Human Rights Commission, “Close to Home” award on April 2011. Latino Books Y Mas provides general books for tourists and locals alike. We need more “mom and pop” stores like Latino Books Y Mas in downtown Palm Springs.

I spent the morning at the shop and the steady stream of people stopping by just to show their support is truly heartening. Mr. Wessman remains silent but your signatures prove that this community refuses to let such a vital cultural landmark disappear.

Seeing this kind of momentum reminds me why this bookstore is the heartbeat of our community. I am truly overwhelmed by how many of you stepped up to protect this space that has given so much to our students and families.

This shop is the heart of our community. Palm Springs is losing its soul with all these big chains coming in. Leave them alone!

Ridiculous that they are trying to evict them when they pay rent on time. greedy landlords running everything ruined this town.

Stop the eviction. we need more local businesses like this not another empty storefront or chain.
