We the undersigned are aware of the current proposals to close the Wilton branch of Lloyds Bank at 2 Silver Street Wilton on the 19th March 2018. We believe that this decision has been made without thought for the local businesses and people that use this branch, and the effect on the local economy. The Business Secretary of the former Coalition Government made assurances that the last Bank in a community would not be allowed to Close.

Therefore we urge Lloyds Bank plc to reconsider and NOT close this branch.

The reach of this petition has surpassed my initial expectations. It is evident that the community is deeply invested in preserving local access to these essential financial services.

As the only local bank with facilities outside of working hours it is essential this Bank remains - the area around Wilton has / is being heavily built up so to remove this facility makes no sense as footfall is only likely to rapidly increase over the next two years

Lloyds Bank made a pre-tax profit of £1.95 billion in the third quarter of 2017 alone, and they can't keep a town branch in a growing town open? Don't worry Lloyds, i'll be changing my account on the branch's final day (if you continue with the closure). If you don't provide a local service then what benefit are you to me?

Closure of this ban would be a real pain particularly for those older people for whom getting into salisbury is an extremely difficult procedure. Many of the older population, of which my mother who lives in Wilton is one, don’t like on line banking and can’t walk far enough/ have the ability to get onto public transport. Please do not close this branch.

Lloyds not living up to the rhetoric? ….. Quoted from the corporate website "Community Banking is the face of Lloyds Banking Group…. " So if they're not "IN" the community what value these words?

This closure will not only hurt local businesses, but people who do not drive/cannot drive and have mobility issues will also struggle to get into Salisbury to do their banking. It will also cause more traffic on the roads in and out of Wilton, when there is enough already and, more often than not, our local roads are badly congested.

Running a business in Wilton, my customers and I rely on this bank for access to cash and banking facilities. Without a bank in Wilton, we are left with customers going to Salisbury instead of coming to us, as its easier, offers far more services they require, such as payment of bills. There are many people in Wilton who use this bank daily and its closure will have a huge impact.

Not everybody living in Wilton can make it into Salisbury to get to a bank nor are everybody able or want to do online banking. Also with all the new houses being built around the Wilton area surely having a local bank would encourage people to visit our town, so please think again Lloyd’s you could be missing out on a lot of potential new customers.

Having just moved to Wilton Sand being a Lloyd’s Bank account holder this will be very inconvenient to me
