The school board has decided to cut the Odyssey of the Mind program down to one team.... this is a total of 7 people who can be involved in this amazing program. This program offers so many positives like true team work, learning to think on your feet, and creating solutions to difficult problems. These are life lessons that will be carried on though out life. This is a brain sport and a creative outlet, that is something that isn’t matched anywhere else in the curriculum. This program must be saved.

I was apart of OotM for one year, but i also have many friends that followed OotM from elementary school to their senior year and it was a HUGE part of what made them, them. Woodstown-Pilesgrove RSD, Please show as much support to the arts as you do to sports and athletics. We matter too!

OM has been a part of my life since I in elementary school. I would not have the friends, academics, or enjoyment that I had in high school without this club. Limiting the membership by this much is heartbreaking considering how amazing woodstown has done with teams at competitions.

By limiting to one team, sending school kids will have a much harder struggle to be on the team. It will be easy to pick the kids who have the experience. My daughter would have never been chosen and OM was one of her best experiences.

I know so many peers of mine who are involved in ootm and live it and you can’t take it away. They’re WORLD champions and don’t deserve to be shut down.

People shine in different areas and if you get rid of OOTM than you’re depriving people of an creative outlit. You’re always telling us to do extra curricular activities, and now you’re slowly getting rid of one. You wouldn’t do this to sports, why do it to an art program?

It is so important that we have many outlets at our schools to show creativity and collaboration !! Sports and athletic programs are wonderful but we also need to support OoTM. Not every child is an athlete but OoTM is a way for children to benefit from using skills such as creativity, collaboration and team work . Many skills needed in life and many of the same skills shared with team sports! Please continue to support this wonderful program that has grown incredibly in the last 15 years thanks to the love and support of so many teachers , families and children and has brought tremendous pride to our district !!
