The tree felling license for Newtownstalaban Wood has been officially denied. I am drained from the months spent fighting this but the trees are staying exactly where they belong. We proved that this land is worth more than a profit margin and I will keep watching to make sure it …
We cannot let this happen! We mustn't allow this beautiful wooded area full of native trees and protected wildlife to be just torn down with no reason! This woodland is home to bats, badgers, Pygmy shrews, hedgehogs and buzzards! These animals are protected in Ireland and it is illegal to destroy theses beautiful creatures homes! There are 200 year old oak trees which are perfectly healthy! Please sign the petition to stop the tree felling licence application GFL16380! Which is to remove 70% of the woodland along the Termonfeckin Road which is in Newtownstalaban across from the Newtown Cross Cemetery.
Reaching this point has been physically draining but seeing this level of support keeps me going when the task feels impossible. I am exhausted by the slow pace of the bureaucracy yet your dedication proves we are not fighting this battle alone.

70 percent is way to much. Who even gave permission for this to be considered.

Ridiculous idea. Those trees have been there longer than any of us. Leave the wood alone!

This is just pure greed. My kids play here all the time and love seeing the badgers. Please dont let them take it down.

My parents live right by the cemetery and the noise and mess will be awful. Stop this now.
