Save the stadium for our kids! it's not right the way this is being pushed through so quickly. This stadium needs to be kept for our kids not some professional organization.

This proposal has been hastily pushed through by the city and I believe that it will have a negative impact on the community and on baseball in British Columbia.

We have lived in the Burnaby/ New West aea for 24 years and have had the pleasure of utilizing the fascilities at Queen's Park for all three of our sons. In particular they enjoyed many years of Little League baseball at all the diamonds in New West. The boys learned looked forward to graduating to the various fields as they got older and built their baseball skills. The ultimate treat of course was to be able to play in the Queen's Park Stadium. What a waste to take this away from baseball, what a shame for the future young players not to have that to look forward to. New West baseball taught/ modelled good sportsmanship, committment on the part of many parents/ coaches/ and community leaders, taught committment to the kids, also patience, responsibility, team work, and respect. Many of the kids continue to umpire as young adults which requires resilience and maturity. Besides the baseball factor....take note on any night there is a game of how many people from the local community use that fascility to walk, bring their kids to the park, play slow pitch, tennis, stop to watch one of the minor games or to watch the big kids in the stadium. That feeling of community would be lost if this current plan goes through. What a loss for baseball, what a loss for New West and for the residents in the Queen's Park area.

Queen's Park is not only important to baseball programs in New Westminster but it is also a very valuable baseball facility for the entire Lower Mainland. What's wrong with the Whitecaps going back to Swangard Stadium?

I am also concerned with the possibility that the stadium may be torn down. In a few years when the Whitecaps decide they don't want to use the facility anymore we will have destroyed a heritage building. This reminds me of a proposal a few years ago to build a new arena and destroy the old one! I am glad people opposed this and it didn't happen.

This was our home park/stadium when I played fastpitch softball about 15 years ago. Tons of history. Would really hate to see it go.

I lived in New Westminster almost my entire life and before then we came for summers to visit my Grandmother that lived across the street from the Park. I was in May Queen, my kids have played sports in this park. It was be devastating to the heritage of this park to see a modern new stadium and to completely diminish baseball for the kids of New Westminster. My 11 year old son lives and breathes baseball. Where will he play? If the City wants us to drive to another City then what does that say to the people of New Westminster. This is amount revenue, but sport and children are far more important. Thank you..

As a parent of a New Westminster baseball player and a life long resident of New Westminster I vote to keep the stadium in Queens Park. It is part of the heritage of Queens Park and baseball for our children is more important than revenue off 14 games of soccer a year. Thank you.
