My Family has grown up with Queens park. My father, aunts and uncles used to play baseball in this park just like my brother, sister and cousins did. To see one of New Westminsters most prideful park be bought out makes me sick. All those memories gathered for so many years now gone and I may never be able to see my own kids, nieces and nephews play baseball in the same place. The Mayday is one tradition that should never have to fade

I have played in New West since I was 5 years old as well as volunteered many hours in helping with the upgrades of the fields including digging trenches and holes in the pouring down rain to install electronic scoreboards. I am sad that the fact of changing the stadium is even being considered After dreaming of playing in the stadium for 10 years, I was finally given that chance last year. It was a great experience playing at Queens Park Stadium. Players of New West look forward to movig up to the stadium....dream of the day of playing under the lights. It would be very disappointing not to play there anymore.

Great memories watching our son play there. Great place for family, friends and Abbey the dog to come and watch. Fond memories of a Mother's Day double header. Lots of families supporting youth playing something other than XBOX. Play soccer somewhere else. Queens Park is for baseball.

When I signed the petition, I stated that I had "mixed emotions" on the efforts being put forth by some over there in New West and at Queens Park.
On one hand, from a "selfish perspective", I'm so thankful that the CITY OF RICHMOND had the foresight to keep BASEBALL in Minoru Park in doing their 80 Million dollar makeover…..While there was some immense pressure to relocate "Baseball"..(or Cricket for that matter) in favour of more soccer only fields, "common sense" won out at the end of the day, and the City Staff is working towards putting a new AT Diamond right in the centre of "the Jewel of the City"……With the new turf, PA system, storage and training facilities, I'm hoping we can FINALLY take away from some of those tournaments that we've been losing out to Queen's Park over the last many years…..(Truth be told, even with the new changes, it probably wouldn't even come close to "the atmosphere and tradition" established at Queens Park for baseball)…..Not only would Queens Park being transformed help us baseball people out here to perhaps even get a new team (or teams should some of the NW teams have to relocate), it would be helpful to the many businesses, hotels, etc close by to Minoru for sure……So the UPSIDE to Queen's closing for perhaps some other areas beyond NW would be great…..We benefit, at the same time, we can chortle "What a bunch of dummies those NW councillors are…..To bad, so sad".
On the "downside", as others have already shared, what a shame it would be to see one of the Lower Mainland's more historic parks be lost to what sounds like "one sport"……I think my wife said it best, in that "if it's such a great and viable thing and the way of the future" why can't it stand on it's own two feet and find somewhere more appropriate to play as opposed to an existing venue that takes away from the communities existing inventory and traditio?….Addition by subtraction isn't always the ONLY way to go, is it?"
Told her, "I have no idea…….BUT by the "s

Keeo Queens Park Stadium for baseball. The Mayor and City councillors can not be trusted with the integrity of this Stadium, Queens Park and taxpayer's money.

I think this is being rushed too quickly with not enough answers to who s funding the new stadium? Where will the new baseball field be built? Where will people park etc...

Queens Park Stadium should be kept for the use of all New Westminster residents, and, not a professional team of any kind.

We are against spending NW tax dollars to give away City assets and taxpayer financial guarantees to cover private corporation liabilities. We also do not want to make our many sports interested youth forfit everything just to satisfy a few profit oriented team management and their team players.

this stadium belongs to the community, let the Whitecaps bully their way into another community! I do not foresee this to have any economic impact on New West at al. I do not believe the players will live in or support the businesses of New West.
