Save Nantmel Church in Wales Primary School

Small village schools provide the best start in life for our children. They are being lost because of the Conservative austerity programme.

DO NOT CLOSE THIS SCHOOL!

An excellant school how can the councillors even think about closing it pushing the children into shools in the area which are already over prescribed.We thought we in Wales are suppose to be keeping up with England as regards to our childrens education not sending them down a path where it most certainly wont be--too many children in a class with not enough teachers to cope with them MOST CERTAINLY DO NOT EDUCATE OUR FUTURE GENERATIONS THAT WAY.Also the figures that seem to be putting around seem to change from month to month WHY is it just to make the school appear worse than it really is if that is the case how can those people live with themselves.If it closes it will most certainly be a huge mistake on many paoples parts.It is a very happy school where the pupils receive an excellent education consequently they go hand in hand

I condemn Powys County Council for their severe cuts to education - unforgivable it is time the councillors reduced their own expenses and pay regards

It is vital that we protect our remaining small schools and the excellent education they provide before quality education becomes a thing of the past.

It is very important that schools like the one at Nantmel are saved from closure, the impact of the very positive education that this school gives can not be calculated in terms of cost and must be viewed by the very good educational standard and allowing children to become the best possible people that they can become.

Another junior/infant school being closed by Powys Council, very upsetting for parents and the community.

There are too many schools being closed in Wales.

The school is needed and must be upkept for future generations. Travelling distances to school may firce families to.move away.

This is my little sister's Marley Winters primary school and she loves it! She is learning amazing amounts! X

I am all for keeping all schools small and personal and primary schools in particular. Children thrive and learn better if they are in a safe and calm environment, which leads to greater things later on. I was privileged to attend a local Church of England village school, about the same size as Nantmel. It has now over 80 pupils and families queue up to get their children a place there, because it is so good. Not only has the village school thrived, but as a result, the whole community. Closing local schools down in favour of huge, anonymous schools is short term saving only, and leads to bigger problems in society later on.

It's important these small schools stay open. Both my children went to a small church school & were streaks ahead of children attending larger schools.

Small, friendly local schools have traditionally reinforced the high standards achieved by young students in rural areas and need to be preserved at all costs.
