Joel Barlow High School has recently been in the process of making budget cuts. One way they are attempting to minimize the budget is by cutting a teacher from every department. Unfortunately, this has caused anger and disappointment for many students, because Ms. Cheng, one of the student body’s favorite teachers will be the teacher cut from the science department. Her genuine passion for teaching creates an environment in her classroom that inspires her students to succeed. Please sign this petition to keep Ms. Cheng, for she is a valuable asset to the Barlow community and it would be a disservice to many students if she did not return next year.

Ms.Cheng has made my daughter love science again after 4.5 years of feeling like she wasn't good at it when she actually is! Why are we cutting academics and yet we just put in this new stadium?!
I've had Ms. Cheng for three semesters and I have learned more from her than I have from any other science teacher in the past. She teaches chemistry and biology in a way that most students find engaging and actually understand. You can tell she really cares about her students and wants them to succeed.
She is an amazing teacher who has inspired me to get into the field of biology, she is kind sweet and a great member to keep in your faculty, it would be a serious loss to loose Ms. Cheng from your team at JBHS
Ms. Cheng was the best, kindest, and most understanding science teacher, let alone teacher, that I ever had. She made every student respect her and want to work for her, and never raised her voice once or threatened anything, which is a technique common at Barlow. Don't fire one of the best hires you've ever made.
Mrs. Cheng is a valuable asset to Joel Barlow. She exudes enthusiasm and has accomplished a difficult task: making Chemistry fun for students of all abilities.
Why get rid of a good teacher that inspires students instead of the bad ones that make students hate school.
We need to keep passionate teachers that keep kids engaged!

Honestly best teacher I have ever had. I don't think I can ever have her again because of the classes I'm taking but I want other students to have the experience of learning from her. I had an A because she ACTUALLY taught me in a way I could understand it unlike most science teachers
