The government confirmed the May Day bank holiday is staying exactly where it belongs. This result is a direct win for everyone who spoke up to protect our spring tradition. Keep watching the news for any new attempts to change the calendar.
The government will consider a paper aimed at moving the mayday bank holiday to October. I petition that this does not happen and that England keeps the holiday as it is. Would you rather have an extra day off in sunny May or in dismal October? there are political reasons for making the change which will not benefit the citizens of england (unless you can afford a holiday abroad in Oct!) Look it up yourselves and choose which way to vote, but if you are reading this I guess you may already support common sense.
