My 13 year old son has been playing Airsoft for about a year now and has grown to love the sport. It is a great hobby that has allowed him to connect with an athletic activity, make new friends and learn about the proper way to handle firearms. I don't feel that the people who enjoy and use airsoft guns responsibly and for their intended purpose should be punished because of the few people who don't. This is becoming a tired, repetitive scenario when new legislation is trying to be implemented....punish the responsible majority for the irresponsible actions of a few. Stop the cycle!

This is actually a first amendment issue. The government wants to tell us we can't paint our airsoft guns certain colors. That's artistic expression and is protected under the first amendment. The state must prove they are acting in furtherance of a compelling interest and acting in the least restrictive manner. Since they aren't prohibiting gun owners from painting their guns the colors the proposed law says airsoft guns must be painted, the argument that the law is to help differentiate real guns from replicas falls flat on its face.

Airsoft is a fun and safe sport. Please do not take the entertainment and recreation value the sport provides.

This has to stop. This is a classic case of an extreme minority ruining it for the majority. Please do not let this pass.

The government has no right to take away real firearms from its citizens and imitation firearms is the biggest over reach I can think of. Don't take away these hobby/sport items.

Please don't take away what few hobbies people have in Maryland. Why ban a toy and punish those of us who use them as a pass time and sport. Instead punish the people who use them beside their intended purpose. If someone has the nerve to break the golden rules of Airsoft and use them for crimes or in threatening manners let the police treat them as if they were real firearms. Any airsofter knows what he or she should be doing to keep themselves safe. Every gun manual and hosted game brief these guidelines are explained. Please don't punish the crowd for the one person who may do something bad.

I've been playing for about 4 1/2 years. I had many great experiences. It wouldn't be fair to take the sport away.
