the reason i'm signing this is because of the fact that airsoft and paintball are good outdoor sports for people who love video games like call of duty and gives them a chance to see what it's really like to get in a firefight. it also gives them an opportunity to stop playing the games and get outside for a change which can positively improve their health.

Airsoft is the only sport i play and my only hobby. Its my stress relief and almost like a mini vacation..i wiuld say theres something very therapeutic about it. Being out doors or indoors with people all with the same intentions of having a good time.

Surely some kind of compromise can be reached here. It's a game. Change the color if needed but to ban them all together is not cool

Not all airsofters are bad and irresponsible when it comes to airsoft replicas. We just like any sport/hobby has it's bad eggs, but don't punish all for the few.

Airsoft is a great sport and is pretty much the only exercise I get. If you take it away I will be lost. It helps me in more ways that I can think of. It helps with stress, exersize, socializing, and many more ways. And for it to be taken away because some people don't appreciate it and are not safe is absurd. People will always abuse anything that can be, but it doesn't represent EVERYONE else who plays the sport. If they take it away, people will lose jobs, Hobbys,mane friends. There are some really great people involved with this sport. The people at TAA in Rockville are great people. They taught me a lot of what I know about airsoft. I understand that using these in public is dangerous and is frightening to those who are not familiar to the sport. So ban public use. Do not ban every single thing that involves replica firearms. It's just unnesicary. Make legal fields for use of the replicants and maybe even make us put tape on the guns like in newyork.

Being I'm from the general area and have worked in the industry, I will say, this is a horrible idea. Airsoft and Paintball are very fun to play. All fields follow standard safety procedures to ensure the safety of those playing. Don't let a few bad apples change the entire Airsoft and Paintball scenario in Maryland for everyone else.

Plz don't take the SPORT away! How is this any different then paintball? This petition names no sense at all. You can legally own a weapon that can kill but you can't own a replica that shoots plastic bb's.

I can understand why and how some people would have an issue with Airsoft/Paintball firearms but this is not a solution. To completely ban everything to do with the sport is lazy on the behalf of those who support this bill. If you want to decrease the use of these "toys" in public then create or reword your bill to allow the public "us" enjoy the sport still in Maryland. You can transport in locked cases/gun bags, you can only use them at legal fields (no more backyard Airsoft/paintball) and you can also make it illegal to brandish in public. For those of us who treat our "toys" as real weapon will have no problem with these changes to your bill. As I first read your proposal I was furious as in why would you just kill a hobby because of the choices a few children and adults have made. If that was the correct thought process of our state government then ban automobiles for allowing them to be used as weapons, ban alcohol because it impairs the choices some adults make, ban smoking, ban knives, and ban power tools. You see where I'm going with this? It is not the right choice to just completely ban something because of fear. The sport is a great way for kids to get outside to have fun and gain new friendships. Please keep Airsoft and Paintball in the fine state of Maryland. If any questions or just comments back please email me and we can discuss things further.
