Aside from the ramifications on businesses in the state of Maryland, the ownership and use of airsoft, paintball, and other BB guns for recreational use it incredibly unlikely the be the source of any issues in the state. As a responsible owner of such equipment I can't abide the senseless, broad stroke implication that such tools could be at fault for the failings of the few irresponsible owners to abuse such items.

I personally have spent many hours with friends playing this sport. To attempt to criminalize it is insanity and will literally do no good. We always treated our air soft equipment with respect and that is all that is necessary.

Airsoft is sport that I greatly enjoy. The main factor that draws me to the sport is that the guns can look very authentic. Requiring them to be painted bright colors will not only ruin that aspect, but it will also do more harm than good. What happens if a criminal paints his real firearm bright pink? Are the police going to disregard it as if it's fake? I think anyone using an imitation firearm (airsoft gun) should understand the responsibility that entails and handle it responsibly. The police should be able to assume any airsoft gun is a real weapon. It's up to the carrier to not handle the weapon in a suspicious way in public and to always comply with police demands in order to guarantee their safety. Anyway, this bill makes no sense and there is no logical reason this will help ANYTHING other than anyone wanting to see airsoft die.

Airsoft and paintball are a sport and shouldn't be banned regardless of how you try to demonize it.

This is a sport but more it is about teamwork, honor and comradery.
We have Military veterans who meet at these events in which also mentor young kids about joining the military services.
Anyone who picks up the sport of airsoft needs to be thought how the sport is played & how airsoft gun replicas work.
There are other battles to be won, this is not one of them.
Do not take away a Military simulation sport that could hinder a release for our veteran and our future soldiers.

There is no reason to band this sport. I believe as long as people play responsible and are safe with ther airsoft guns and follow proper gun safety and carry laws they should be allowed to play! Keep the sport and stop the nonsense.

Been playing airsoft for 23 years. It has served me great as one of the best hobby as well as excellent opportunity to socialize with people and to work out. Legislators of Maryland, the problem is not airsoft, but wrong people. You are targeting the wrong enemy. This bill should not pass!

Me and my friends would play airsoft in the backyard all the time. And I play paint ball now. There is no reason to ban airsoft, or paintball. Its just another team building activity.
