I graduated from an alternative high school and I'm so thankful for the opportunities that it is given me. I have a career, yes a career not just a job that I wouldn't of had without the opportunity of the alternative high school. I'm positive I wouldn't have graduated and may or may not have me not gotten my GED. I understand in thought alternative schools have a bad reputation, I am speaking from experience and currently have a niece in rolled in Longview. I have seen something ignite and her over the last few years she has a passion for life, learning and strives to be the best she can be. I can indeed say this is not the person she would've become without Longview. If you disrupt Longview as stands currently is it would change many of the students lives and are you sure you not feel the positive. This petition is just one example of how passionate Longview students become and I for one am proud of everyone of them.

Two of my daughters graduated from Longview. They excelled there, and were struggling before transferring in. Good things being done there in approach to learning.

Longview H.S. has helped a lot of kids trying to find their way in the world. Eliminating this opportunity put the community, and more importantly, the students themselves at an enormous disadvantage. Please reconsider and leave Longview to continue to its mission.

My son is currently enrolled. He goes to school!! He attends and engages. This is new behavior for him at age 19. He needs this environment to complete his diploma.

As an alumni, I can safely say I would not be on my way to achieving a life long passion if I hadn't learned how to make thoughtful decisions when at Long View. They don't just teach you basic classes, they teach you how to be the best person you can be, with priceless life skills, and to be mindful of the world and people around you.
That could very well be taken away if place them in an invisible corner of a medium sized school. Please be thoughtful of this.

I have no idea what would have happened to my granddaughters if there were not Longview. So before closing think about a lot more things than just what you see in front of you. There is a whole lot more at stake here than what you see.

This was the first school that I every succeed in. The first school I learned things that I wouldn't ever get to learn at another school. This school has so much purpose beyound your wildest belefe. The board my not see it but we do and that's why we fight for the things we care about.

I would not have graduated high school at all if I hadn't been accepted into Longview.
This is a wonderful school that gives so many students who don't "mesh" into the normal high school setup the chance to thrive and succeed when they may not have before.
It would be a shame and a terrible loss to see this school shut down and mixed in with McLain.
