Final supporters
The "Village at Burlingame" has been proposed for City of Burlingame Parking Lots F and N, in downtown just south of Howard Avenue. The project proposes constructing a new, 5-story 132-unit affordable workforce and senior apartment development on the site of Parking Lot F, and relocating the existing parking stalls to a proposed parking garage on Parking Lot N.
We're sure that you'll agree that parking in Downtown Burlingame is already VERY LIMITED, so it is imperative that we do what we can to ADD parking spaces.
We are suggesting that the City Planning Commission BUILD the proposed parking garage on Parking Lot N BEFORE construction begins on "The Village at Burlingame"
The Downtown Burlingame Improvement District (DBID) has put together this online petition with the hopes of collecting signatures from our constituents to show support of building the parking structure before The Village. We will then present the collected signatures to the Burlingame City Planning Commission for their review and consideration.

I have been hearing from so many of you about how vital these parking spaces are for our daily lives. Honestly I started this thinking it would be a small thing but your stories have shown me that this really touches everyone in town. Please know that this momentum is entirely thanks to your willingness to speak up.

I am honestly stunned by how many people agree that we need a proper plan for our parking infrastructure. This momentum belongs entirely to you because you were the ones who took the time to speak up for our downtown future.

I have decided to move my office from the downtown area because of this very reason as my clients have difficulty finding parking.
The number one complaint from our guests at Alana's Café and Sixto's is how hard it is to find parking and people don't come downtown as often because it is frustrating. It goes without saying all of us business owners need the opportunity to host as many customers possible.
I am a DTBG member and small business owner. Parking has been a huge challenge, no parking is available for guests and employees. Construction vehicles should be ticketed in the downtown area and forced to park away closer to or on east side of tracks. They are taking away valuable parking space from the people coming to the businesses and driving that revenue growth.
This makes the most sense for Burlingame. The plan to demolish two parking structures at the same time is absolutely idiotic and clearly there have not been significant impact studies done.
The parking challenges are so bad that my clients constantly tell me how much they hate coming to town now because it’s to hard to find parking. I had a parking permit for February and March that I was only able to use 4 times due to the all day parking being taken up by the construction workers. I am forced to park in San Mateo and walk many blocks in order to get to work on Burlingame and Lorton Avenue.
We need parking like crazy.
Don't let us become another Redwood City. Building more parking is essential!

I walk downtown whenever I can, but sometimes you have to have a car! I've had to give up engagements downtown entirely because of lack of parking at peak hours. Businesses like Aida felt like the lack of parking led to their demise.
