maidstone borough council should be a shamed of their decade of poor town and infrastructure planning! is it any wonder maidstone is suffering textbook "doughnut" effect on businesses moving away. further coupled with expensive 24/7 parking charges, creating lower footfall, there wont be any businesses surviving. i've seen first hand mbc "town planners" in action- shocking- disgraceful-! 30 years i've lived in maidstone and i'm ready to move out too!!

It would be a huge loss if this was allowed to happen. live music and earl street, can't have one without the other.
I hope our concerns are taken on board! Allow access to vehicles for the bands to continue!! Live music is part of our culture!

There are very few good venues in Maidstone that have live music and Earls & The Druids Arms have been two of the best, well run and all together excellent venues in Maidstone. Maidstone has always had a strong live music tradition. Many excellent bands have their roots in Maidstone. Please consider what you will be destroying with this "improvement" and make provisions for access to these venues. If you do not, you will be contributing to the destruction of part of our town's culture, the abandonment of two great and successful venues and the people they attract to our town not to mention the many residents of Maidstone who love live music. If you do this with no regard to the businesses who are already there and the people who love them, you will be contributing to the demise of our town's cultural and artistic history. If you do not think this matters, you have no idea what Maidstone wants or needs.

Earl Street is the only part of Maidstone which remains vibrant and entertaining. It needs to be preserved. More even than Havock Lane before certain councillors decided that an ancient right of way would be improved by planting Fremlin Walk on it!

This will reduce the variety of culture within the county town, which would reduce tourist attractions which are promoted nationally. This seems to be a strange decision, plus the reduction to wheelchair accessibility for town seems extremely futile, bearing in mind the lack of disabled spaces within the town.

There must be access for live music to continue in Earl st. Otherwise music venues will loose money as misic has always been the main reason to visit Earl St.

The timespan you are allowing to lorries for deliveries is a danger to the pedestrians in week st and top of fremlins walk. It will be impossible to turn a lorry right onto Week st safely with pedestrians and the mobile greengrocers on that corner.
