What pressing problem is this solving, and how much will it cost the taxpayer? If you want to spend money defending Maidstone town centre from something, maybe flooding would be a better option.....

This is ridiculous. My social outlet, is to go and see live bands here in Maidstone. The theatre needs vehicles to be able to take in set pieces etc, so would be the death of the theatre. Ludicrous!

This wl destroy the community who partake in the music scene in Maidstone Town Centre in turn will take away revenue for public houses and force them to close thus eradicating social meetings among the community.

I'm disgusted that the council can even think of wiping out live music in Earl Street - especially after all the fuss about Earl St being the hub of nightlife. I truly believe the council are doing everything in their power to ruin Maidstone and this is just another shameful way to do this,,..

If this is implimented there will be virtually no music scene in Maidstone. Lots of efforts made to freshen the bowling alley, shops, plenty of eating establishments. Where is the push for local music and musicians? Also with the new renovations at the Hazlitt Theatre which include putting in a music stage for smaller acts, how is this feasable with no access? Not all musicians play the picallo and can just carry it allong the street. More thought needs to be put in place for this! Venues like Pizza express, The Druids Arms, Earls and the Hazlitt theatre have been running music long before some of the restaurants have set up shop and i feel the no access will be to help promote the "alfresco" style dining. This will only lead to drinking in the streets and large numbers of people congregating in the centre of town late at night causing more anti social behaviour. Very rarely have i seen a fight break out at a music venue as people generally go to see the music and come together in a range of ages and different classes and enjoy the social aspect of Maidstones music scene, which will be lost if access is denied with in the proposed times. Please rethink!
