DofE should be open to all young people including those who need extra support, especially them.

For Kirklees to cut the funding to the D of E scheme would be both shortsighted and foolish.

It's an outrage to try and remove these it teaches kids respect and responsibility. I my self have done duke of Edinburgh bronze, silver and gold it was great it is a shame to think others won't get that same chance and opportunity to do this great award.

The DofE in Kirklees has provided my sons a great experience volunteering in young people's groups. Young people with disabilities are able to gain the awards and the support is given to all young people in Kirklees. We must keep the Award and encourage all young people to gain in self confidence, self reliance , self confidence and life skills. Please maintain funding for this important work with young people in the borough.

This is a much valued resource for young people especially the vulnerable ones. I have seen the Delight on the faces of the young people who attend the DoE sessions at Shepley Bridge. Do not discontinue this service. Ever.

If DofE gets closed, it's one less opportunity for young people. I'm doing Bronze and plan to do Silver then Gold. It's a great scheme to give teenagers to take up their free time as it teaches them great skills to use in later life.

No way this shoukd be happening. My daughter gained her silver through Kirklees, thus is a vital part of a young person life learning new skills and facing challenges outside the comfort of home. Please sign and share to make sure these services continue.

Cuts need to be made but by cuting this service the effect will be creat problems elsewhere as they help vulnerable young people The DofE is recognised by employers as an asset just as GCSE's are. Kirklees DofE also provide valuable help to other groups

It might be corny but young people are our future.

There is little enough support for young people without taking this wonderful scheme away. The staff are fabulous too.

Cutting costs is important but not only is the DofE a nationally recognised award in further education and industry/commerce but it also occupies young people who could be on the streets causing disturbances and then money needs to be spent dealing with a negative result.

We all understand that cuts need to be made, However, Kirklees D ofE is a valuable asset to our local community The team not only work with young people of all backgrounds, changing young lives in a positive way but also those who volunteer and work with the young people. It provides new friendships and positive life affirming experiences for all of those involved. Do not cut this unique asset in the Kirklees crown. Find the funding and help the award to carry on making a positive impact in Kirklees
