This is a brilliant scheme for children in our area please don't cut funding.

The DofE award has provided our young people with so many skills and opportunities that have had a real impact on the young people that I work with. These are the young people who are the most disadvantaged and have the least opportunities. These are the young people who should be at the forefront of budgeting thoughts, not the people that are going to (yet again) take the brunt of budget cuts! STOP!

This is absolutely not right to cut the Duke of Edingbourgh Award especially here in Kirklees there are hundreds of award centres which enable a wide range of your people to carry out the award meaning even more chances of success for all. The Duke of Edingbourgh Award is a well known and recognised award for young people to achieve and include in their CV's when applying for jobs. I believe that this should still carry on because there is far more Benifits for young people, including been able to socialise with others, work as a team, problem solve, complete challanaging tasks etc. It's an award also for those with disabilities to be able to accomplish something so worthwhile whilst having the oppotunityy to socialise with others who they don't normally socialise with. As for WACKY I don't believe this should be stopped in the slightest i have been part of this scheme ever since it started and believe it a fantastic opportunity for those young people with a disability to try out a huge range of activities in a safe secure and inclusive enviromemt. Please do not cut any of these services because then young people will not be able to do anything worthwhile in their spare time.

Think of the benefits this has for the young people in Kirklees Young even including very many with additional needs has a parent with 3 children , 2 with additional needs and having being once a volunteer for DofE I have seen how much value this service has on the youth and to those with addinatonal needs. DofE needs saving Not closing

I completed my DofE with Kirklees, and not only did it give me something to do and focus on, it taught me valuable life skills as a young person. I have been able to build on this great foundation as an adult and it has helps me progress as an adult in my career. It has scope beyond recognition and an insane impact on those that have the opportunity to participate. Denise and her team do invaluable work and it would be a great shame to see the youth of Kirklees lose this amazing service.

My husband volunteers at DofE. The stories he tells of the children and young adults and the benefits for parents, are inspirational. Stop hurting our children. Make cuts elsewhere.

My son has completed his silver award & is looking forward to moving onto his Gold. He would be devastated if he's not allowed to do this.

Stopping this funding is such a colossally stupid idea. It gives kids a great start, and makes up for some of the half arsed parenting that's rife in Kirklees. You'll end up spending more cleaning graffiti, repairing bus shelters and paying out in unemployment.

To cut the funding would be a travesty, young people get so much out of the service and it creates well rounded individuals

Please keep the funding for this valuable service. We need to continue to support those young people who would not otherwise have such an opportunity - it makes such a difference to their lives.
