The DofE Award and similar outdoor activities have far reaching and possitive effects for the community which should be fully considered. DofE helps young people grow up to be active, skilled, caring and responsible young adults. I think outdoor education can play as large a part in a young persons development as schools, helping them to see the wider world, improving their interpersonal skills and getting them off that Xbox!

I enjoyed every second of my time here, I made so many new friends and made a difference to the local community and it made doing DofE really accessible and for all ages, cultures and abilities. There should be so many other community activity centres just like this one. I hope that others and even my children will have the same opportunity that I did. Save it don't waste it!

My son is completing his d of e gold at the moment and he also benefits greatly from wacky you are very short sighted removing something which is a great acolade and greatly improves his job prospects which are already limited due to bis disability.

The D of E Award section needs saving for the development & progress of our young people in Kirklees. If we loose this now,, this will have a massive detrimental effect on the future of so many young people with & without disabilities . They gain so much from taking part in such a wonderful group
