I think it is ridiculous that they are going to close such a fun and diverse centre. Not only does it help everyday people but it also helps those people who need the extra help. They al have a place to come and will never be bored. The counsil complain we have no money but close dofe and it makes people less employable. We all know how it looks on a CV. We can't let this happen lets fight till they give in.

We use this service at Ethos school which is a pupil referral unit for the hard to engage. It is so valuable to us!

Kirklees decision makers! - young people are our and your future. If you don't know about or don't care about the value of the Kirklees DofE schemes you don't deserve to be a public servant. Don't waste these good works for the sake of short sighted politics. I am one of hundreds of volunteers supporting this service - you obviously don't know the value you are getting from us either - try rebuilding that if you continue with this cynical plan.

To cut funding for such a large SUCCESSFUL service with over 500 volunteers and hundreds more participants developing personal and life skills at all levels and abilities,... it would be more than real shame...
