As someone who's done gold DOFE I know how much it can make someone. Losing this would be a tragedy for not just now but for the future as well

This is really sad to hear! I think it gives children a sense of achievement. So disappointed.

It would be a disaster for Kirklees for this facility to close

KMC should be supporting the young people of Kirklees in DofE awards and events, its through awards such as these that our young people develop and mature, learn new skills and become rounded adults taking a constructive place in society.

An absolute travesty that Kirklees should even consider cutting their support to such invaluable youth development schemes. Maybe a few less hefty council hierachy salaries, would leave monies for such important programmes.

The DofE scheme is of huge benefit to young people, also gives some of the less academic something to immerse themselves and excel in, would be a shame to see it go.

This is just the latest in a series of terible cuts forced on the council by a Government with a failed economic policy of austerity. They will continue to take from our communities and still fail to see the damage that is being done. We need a government that will invest in local communities and in our young people in order to rebuild and transform our economy. If you think that this kind of thing cannot continue then vote for Jeremy Corbyn's Labour.
