I think it is really important that every young person can access the DofE award, because as an award holder, I know how many doors it can open.

We need to have these outlets for our young people, are you happy for them to be roaming the streets and not being able to focus on the "good things in life". Shame on you making these decisions at such a high cost to our future generations.

Seen the great work these guys do. In society that's wanting to encourage youngsters to be active and get off the sofa loosing local provisions like this will just encourage them to be the couch potatoes we all want to avoid.

I run an awards centre at my school, without the support and training of all from Kirklees DofE i wouldnt manage.
You must keep this valuable resource going not only for the able bodied students but also for the special needs.

If everybody in the council work as hard as The DofE Team then Kirklees Council would be in a much better place and they would not have to make cuts!

Three of my children have their bronze award, one is about to complete their gold. They have learnt new skills, pushed their boundaries, gained more confidence and become fitter. My daughter continued with her voluntary work because she enjoyed it so much. Please don't cut a scheme that not only helps individuals realise their full potential but benefits everyone by having young people volunteer and engage with their local community.

Please do not cut funding. This provides an amazing opportunity to our young people to take part in activities they would otherwise not get the chance to do. My daughter has grown in confidence over the last 3 years, met new friends, overcome her self imposed restrictions and become friends with other young people. Our young people NEED these opportunities.

We need this in Kirklees so that it gives lots of kids the opportunity to do these fantastic things. Rather than sitting behind a computer.
