I have been going to Jim's since I was 6 years old when my mother took me there 30 years ago.. I now travel 2 hours to drop my shoes off there. When I was living in other states, I still waitied (if I could) till I got back to New York so that I could bring my shoes to Jim's. It is a real New York experience: a family owned and operated business and it shows in the service, the quality of work and the charm of the place itself with 1930's booths to wait in while they fix your shoes. They do a great shine and have three generations running the business. It is one of the last places in NYC that i depend upon to remain amidst all the changes of high rises and chain stores. Please, let them keep their lease and let us keep our shoes on...

I'd be lost without Jim's Shoe Repair. Have a pile of shoes waiting to be dropped off. Very upset with landlord.

Not sure of all of the details, but to the landlord: if this is just about money, please reconsider. There's value to us all in keeping stores like Jim's in Manhattan.

This is outrageous. I have been going to Jims for 30 years. If Duane Reade promotes themselves as a neighborhood pharmacy, then why are they trying to evict other neighborhood stores?

This is outrageous. Shame on Walgreen's and Duane Reade -- entities that represent everything wrong with NYC

Known in the ocean, big fish eat small fish! On the dry land, we, humans have the possibility - at least TRY -t o stop that type of thing from happening. Let's put our efforts together to prevent the killing of Jim's Shoe Repair business. SIGN!

We have been going to Jim's EVERY week for 25 years and CANNOT live without them. Not so much Duane Reade. If they force Jim's out, we will NEVER go into another Duane Reade or Walgreen's.
for gods/ sake, let some of the "little guys" luve otherwise the soul of thusxtow

Does Duane Reade Corporation really need that tiny space? Jim does. That's his business. Duane Reade can expand somewhere else. Oh sorry, they already cover every block in Manhattan...

Jim's is simply the best shoe repair shop in the country. Duane Reade should behave like a good member of the community and abandon its plans to expand into Jim's space. We need Jim's for generations to come.
