YMCA or "Y"=young.... lets not forget the first initial as being possibly the most important. Even in the newly installed soap dispensers at HRY have, as one of the the creeds of the Y, "Youth Development". Don't forget that that creed in preference for your elder patrons. Where else will our young children learn to swim? In the local Mill River swim hole? Is swim team not among the best team learning experiences? It was for me!

YMCA swim program was part of my children's growth making helping to make them the wonderful parents and adults they have become. I want my grand kids living in this YMCA vicinity to have the same opportunity.

What fulfills and meets the 4 core values of the YMCA more than a swim team?

Hated the way meets were scheduled with the same age group's events peppered over 4 hours taking up so much more parent/kid time but...loved having it available and my kids are better swimmers because of it,.

I swam for HRY in the late 90s and it was so formative for me! From teaching me the benefits of hard work and dedication to providing me with a strong, friendly, and open peer group that accepted me for me, I would truly not be the person I am today without this team. Please save it, nurture it, and keep it thriving for the next generation!

I don't have children on the swim team, but because I live in the community I get to see how important it is / has been for our local youth. If the Y's mission is to support healthy families and strengthen youth, eliminating a 30 year old organization serving youth seems counter productive to that mission.

I can't begin to list all the ways that this swim team has benefited members of my family. To my knowledge, Mr Marks and the Board have taken no input from stakeholders and have presented no data showing how the Y's services for the whole community will be improved, or how it's bottom line will be bolstered, by eliminating the swim team. As the Y is a non-profit organization and community resource, I'm shocked that they would make such a radical move without fully assessing the impact on their constituents (and their donors).

This is very depressing news. Two beautiful pools, great instructors and no SWIM TEAM? Unheard of. I'm asking that the powers that be keep this program alive.

Miguel loves being on the swim team. It has given him goals and confidence and a 2nd family. Protect our community's swim team for years to come!

from what I have heard the ymca board agrees with mr. marks that the pool use for older adult lap swimmers is the reason for kicking the swim team to the curb. really y board! the Y is supposed to be for kids ane their families if you are board member who thinks otherwise your on the wrong board. I support keeping the team Go Dolphins!

Please keep the Dolphin swim team! Our kids (7 & 4) love their swim classes at the Y & we want the team to be an option!! Thanks for considering.
