They would be completely insane to close something as amazing as this group that has not only helped but supported many families young and old for years. Would be a complete shame for this to end something that is such a big focal point of local communities! I wouldn't be where I am today if I didn't have their help and support many years ago! There isn't another place or group quite like this place. Don't give up and let go it would be a HUGE mistake!

Homestart helped out for a couple of months when my youngest had colic and screamed all day and night. My volunteer Sue was amazing and really helped me get through this difficult time. A great local Charity.

We have twice had a volunteer from Homestart come to help our family. After the births of our first two children I suffered horrendously with a chronic back condition and Homestart provided me with a volunteer who made such a difference to our lives. I cannot believe that the council is withdrawing their funding, organisations like this are an essential support system for families.

Groups like this are vital to so many parents. government cuts have a cost to society and Home Start is the ind of service that is badly needed.

Charmaine and all the lovely ladies at Homestart saved my life. 8 years ago I was diagnosed with severe depression and with 4 children things were getting too much for me and I didn't want to carry on. I got my own volunteer and went to group every week. My youngest is now 8 and Charmaine still keeps in touch. To lose this group would be outrageous.

Hi Catherine Anthony Barej here from the Midweek Mercury, we are doing a story about the lack of funding for the family groups and would like to speak to anyone who has benefited from the service. Please call me on 01992 52 6644 if you would like to share your experiences with us. Kind regards

Who made this decision? We need Homestart more than any other similar organisation.

The Homestart group in Hitchin was a godsend when I struggled with 3 toddlers under 2 years old The volunteers are angels & I don't know what I'd have done without their support. As a taxpaying household I'm appalled that funding withdrawal is proposed for this invaliable
