This the one service we cannot loose. Dare county has a great need for home health and hospice services. Loosing this service would create a hardship on patients and and their families. There is nothing that can replace the compassionate care of home health and hospice.

We all face end of life issues in some way or another. Dare County has unique challenges. The responsibility for providing the compassionate care specifically needed for the services provided by home health and hospice for our loved ones can be best accomplished within our community.

My 85 year old severe late stage dementia mother and I use this service. As I am disabled I need them. I have recently said numerous times this service was last great thing left on the outer banks. My family has been here for a hundred years and have watched it slowly be destroyed. This service is a service we will all need at sometime. Lifetime residents who have spent their lives contributing to the growth of this community deserve the best care in the end. I dont have enough words to express my gratitude for this wonderful organization. I have given up five years of my life to care my mom, to bad I won't get the same wonderful treatment in the end as she did if you sell off the last great gift we have in this county. Spend my tax dollars to save county home health and service and definitely not on tourist attractions.

I have used this agency many times and because it was offered through the county I could afford this ! These employees are needed and used in our county ! Do not sell off too the highest bidder ! Talk to the agency ! Stop wasting our money and put it to the good of our residents ! Do not sell !

Please do not rush this decision and sell off to the highest bidder. I had the privilege of being an employee of Dare Home Health and Hospice. I know the good work of this agency. I know of the heartfelt commitment of the employees. Commitment in spite of demanding work schedules and non-competitive wages. Please work to fix what needs fixing and and leave the heart and soul of this agency to continue the much needed care our citizens deserve.

I had a friend who's wife just passed recently. She had a lot of complications over the years and toward the end with emergency flights and ambulances to far away hospitals. Throughout the process of her passing she had amassed well over 300,000 in bills that insurance would not cover. All my friend wanted to do was spend the last moments with his wife and that's where the hospice came in. He has told me that he could not have done it by himself. The hospice did a number of things that my friend couldn't do out of grief and no family. He said that they were just unbelievably great. He was very upset that DARE county was selling the hospice. BTW the outstanding bills have left my friend homeless. He was forced to use their savings to pay for part of the piling up medical bills that were left uncovered. By a veteran no less. The bank is taking his house right after his wife passed. Please save the hospice.

They helped save my husbands life and were so dedicated to their jobs that they would come even in the wee hours of the morning if I was scared and needed them❤️
