I think the Comissoners should hire a Medical person(s) to evaluate WHY Home Health & Hospice is unsuccessful with keeping staff once they are hired. We need Home Health and especially Hospice services in our community.

It is imperative for our residents to have the dignity of the care needed to transition from this life to the next. I’ve been a caregiver for decades with a large family and there is no way that I could have done it without hospice. Remember that those of you wanting to sell our hospice may indeed regret it if and when they ever need it for themselves. Caregiving can hasten the end of life for those who have cared enough to serve. Be wise. Think carefully. Imagine deeply.

Dare County really needs this! They were there for my mom before she passed away. With them, she was comfortable. Not uneasy at all and they made her feel like she was the only patient they had. They took great care of her and we need that for those who are sick or dying!

Worked for hospital for 38 yrs. When it was sold, it was a nightmare for the community. New owner closed most services, leaving everyone with much longer distance for serviced. LOVE OBX. Please don't let this happen.

As a current patient of HH&H I am strongly against the sale. The care I have received has been excellent and I would hate to see an agency of the county that provides such great service be eliminated.

If Dare County can't afford this hospice, how can a for-profit, foreign business make money other than raise fees, lower standards and reduce staff.
I'm 72 and planning to use this some day! ... and I vote.

Dare Hospice greatly helped my husband 20 years ago when battling a brain tumor. There was no OBX hospital. If it had not been for the caring people that came in to our home several times a week, he would not have survived as long as he did. I will forever be grateful for the compassion and love shown to us both. Thank you!
So sad and tragic this sale is going to happen. A huge loss for Dare County.
