Save Historic Hudson Middle School

I used to live in Hudson, Ohio and I strongly oppose tearing down the Historic Hudson Middle School because it is an IDIOTIC, NONSENSICAL, MORONIC decision that will not only bring Hudson's property values down, but it will also leave the school district with no other choice but to redraw the district lines and build a new school and not have a place for Hudson Middle Schoolers to get an education.

This would almost be like demolishing the Clock Tower!!--Shame on you greedy developers and anyone on city council that would allow this to happen!!!!

Went to school there. Fantastic memories.

Tearing down the old High School will be another step down of Hudson's pride of maintaining its Historic tradition.

Hudson High alumna, class of 1971. I graduated from this building, and our senior picture was taken on the front steps. Other choices can be made by a district in a city which prides itself on historic preservation.

I was born & raised in Hudson, attended all of the old school bldgs there. So much was built on the heritage of Hudson, my parents owned a restaurant, dad , Chief Gosser, Twnp Police. What's next to go the clock tower??

I am a HHS graduate and the thought of you tearing down part of this building is so sad to me. Please do not ruin such a historical part of our town!

Please do not destroying this historic building. This is not the legacy you want to leave for this School Board or Superintendent.

Save this beautiful structure

There are no do-overs when you tear a building down.

Hudson is an historic town. We are known for saving buildings and homes. Why would we tear down that school?

Pls do not destroy the 1927 portion.

Please preserve this historic structure for future generations of Hudson middle school children. My children loved this school building and I remember when it was the high school. New is not necessarily better and we should understand that in historic Hudson, OH.

I am from the graduating class of 1979 when this was the High School. Please save this beautiful building!

I'm still trying to figure out why they built Ellsworth on the corner of Stow and Middleton when they have so much land on the current campus to have it built tbere.

I grew up on Elm Street (moved there in 1974, at age 2, with my family), and for two and a half years attended the pre-school program at Hudson High School, staffed by HHS vocational students and run by Joan Van Osdol (longtime Hudson resident). I have vivid memories of Hudson High and the 1927 Oviatt-facing side of the building, the memorial on that lawn dedicated to HHS graduates who died in Vietnam, the "old school" but stately approach to the old front door facing Oviatt, the towering oaks flanking the walk. That gracious facade, with its framing trees, contributes to Hudson's particular character, its presence in the Western Reserve, and its relationship with the past -- at once rooted and dynamic.

Please don't tear down the original facade.

I know that this decision will affect Hudson negatively. Besides the impact on the historic integrity, aesthetics of the streets, and property values, the school that so many Hudson grads attended will be gone. I grew up at 64 North Oviatt Street, on the same block as the Middle School. This school, I'm to understand, was a high school before the current HHS was built. My orchestra teacher, Mr. Iriarte, and a few others, attended when this building was the high school. This building has a wonderful legacy and has been a part of the community for so long. Please, don't demolish it.
