Final supporters
I am a Hudson resident and/or Hudson Schools alumnus, and I strongly oppose the plan to demolish the 1927 portion of Historic Hudson Middle School, because of the negative impact it will have on Hudson's historic fabric, streetscape, and consequently on property values. I urge the Hudson City School Administration and Board of Education to select another option that preserves this significant historic structure.

I have officially filed a formal request for all documents detailing the original demolition cost projections. We are currently coordinating a meeting with the board members to discuss these findings and present documented alternatives for preservation.

We are approaching one hundred signatures which will serve as our threshold for the initial briefing packet. Please circulate this link to Hudson residents to ensure we reach this benchmark before I deliver the formal request to the Board of Education.

Part of the appeal of Hudson has been it's schools and its dedication to protecting its historic architecture. HCSD should follow the lead of other communities, like Elyria, and not only save the historic facade but build a building which complements it.
Do not tear down the original 1927 building. It's architecture can not be matched today, and is something students should learn to appreciate with the correct guidance. You are teaching the young generation that everything is disposable, even our US History.
This building is part of the history of Hudson schools. My mother, Mary Pace was an assistant principal there, beginning the vocational education facilities. I was a high schooler there. Unless the building is structurally unsound, PLEASE find a new use for it.
I use to live behind the middle school and the demolition of the elementary school changed the whole feel of the block. I couldn't imagine how changing it again would effect the neighborhood and the historical preservation of Hudson all together
Hudson is known for its historic character and support of quality education. If this building is demolished, there will be no structure left speaking to the legacy of support for quality schools in Hudson and to the way this building fits into the layout of Oviatt St.
I attended high school here in the 80s and would be terribly sad to see it gone — the Hudson in which I grew up deserves to be preserved as best as possible.
Class of '88. The back half can go, keep the historic part.

Class of 1972. This building has considerable potential as a community center . My elementary school in Mantua was saved and repurposed. It is the soul and character of the village. The old high school conveys the importance of education in Hudson.
