I grew up in Hudson in the 60s and 70s and this was my High School. I strongly oppose the plan to demolish the 1927 portion of the Historic Hudson Middle School because of the negative impact on Hudson's historic fabric, the streets cape of this beautiful neighborhood and the surrounding property values. I urge the Hudson City School Administration and Board of Administration to preserve this significant historic structure.

Class of 1972. This building has considerable potential as a community center . My elementary school in Mantua was saved and repurposed. It is the soul and character of the village. The old high school conveys the importance of education in Hudson.

Class of 1986. I'm proud to have been born & raised in Hudson. My parents continue to live in Hudson. While life circumstances currently prevent me from moving back, Hudson will always be HOME.
One of the hallmarks of Hudson is the value placed on preservation of historic buildings and the retention of the unique characteristics of our town. HMS is more than just bricks and stone, and more than just nostalgia and memories. It is a viable facility that can simultaneously serve the school district's goals AND maintain Hudson's collective cultural values of community identity, heritage conservation and architectural aesthetics, and fiscal benefits of higher property values and ongoing economic development.
Historic buildings like HMS are the foundation of what makes Hudson HUDSON. Our historic heritage brings businesses to town, attracts new residents and brings in tourists -- all of which equate to dollars.
Hudson BOE: Show that you support Hudson's economic growth and collective cultural values by preserving HMS.

Keep the beautiful, historically significant façade and simply update the interior. No need to demolish..the academy uses it's nearly 200 year old buildings quite nicely.
