Other communities far less committed to preservation than Hudson have found ways to successfully save old school buildings. I know Hudson can too.

I am a member of the 100th graduating class of Hudson High School. The building evokes emotions and memories whenever I drive by. I miss seeing the oldest building, the Oviatt school. It may be easier to build new but at what cost? Please just put the money toward upgrading and save the last piece of Hudson schools history so it can be fondly remembered by generations to come!

Most of the Board members do not recognize the significance of this building and the impact it has had on our lives. If they had attended this facility, their views might be different.

33 year resident of the village. School is integral part of Hudson. Taking it down should not be considered.

If this was a historic house our building owned by an individual, they would not be able to tear it down. Why should the City be able to? Without the history ... we do not have the future!

PLEASE consider another option besides demolition. How short-sighted and irreparable it would be to lose the Historic Hudson Middle School building.

I wholeheartedly agree with the preservation of this property. The economic impact to the schools treasury as property values inevitably decline, should also be considered.

Hudson is a town defined by what we have refused to destroy. Keeping at least the historic front of the building is true to who we are. To raze the structure entirely is to betray what makes our community great.

The historic fabric of Hudson is what draws people to our city. Tax paying citizens as well as visitors. The historic core of Hudson is what people enjoy, remember, and return to year after year. First and Main, the downtown corridor and the up keep of the homes within the Historic District are the charm that makes Hudson great. The 1927 historic façade of the now Middle School is part of the character that is Hudson. Yes, the school needs to be updated to meet the needs of our students; however, retaining the historic high school for generations to come will help to retain the authenticity of our historic city while enticing others to want to be part of Hudson.
