Problems started with abolition of WDC resulting in Park keepers having to cut greens. Progressed last year when Park keeper was only there part-time. This year the youths have the run of the Park as there is no one of authority to stop them. For years Hirst Park has been awarded Green Flag and other awards however with the condition the Park is now in and NCC continued policy to ignore all complaints it seems very unlikely that any such award will be awarded in the near future
This is a big issue the Hirst Park has had lots of new facilities over the last few years which are a waste if they cannot be used due to the anti social behaviour if nothing happens nobody will play bowls which is a scandal as the club has been there for years and has a good membership
this park is an essential part of EBF bowling for Ladies and Men and was established a long time ago, please do not close it.
I hope this comes to fruition.

Lawn Bowling is a sport that has been played and enjoyed for many years. It is a friendly, competitive game that brings people of all ages from across the country together. This is being threatened by budget cuts, with no games keeper, funding, fencing or security for the game or the people playing. Hirst Park has been experiencing major anti social behavior to the point that players are no longer safe playing there and greens are being destroyed. Lets keep this sport alive and urge Councils to continue to fund and support Lawn Green Bowls!.......these words dont need anything more added
this is a worthy cause. been here a long time and a few idiots should not be allowed to close it .

The health and well-being of those enjoying a game of bowls throughout the summer should be a cause for concern for the council and police. It's a great shame that bowlers will choose not to return given the anxiety, annoyance and fear that is generated when all they are trying to do is enjoy a social event in a public place. Hopefully, the council will come up with a solution which will enable Hirst Park Bowling Club to survive and thrive.
