A request that the relevant County and Borough Councils support the people of Leicestershire, and particularly the communities of South Wigston, Wigston Magna and Oadby by providing funding to assist Helping Hands continue their services.
Many local people rely on Helping Hands to provide them with a free, confidential, one-stop advice service delivering expert independent advice in an approachable and sensitive way. The closure of the Helping Hands service will leave thousands of vulnerable and disadvantaged clients without the care and help they need when their lives are in crisis

Having been a partner at South Wigston HC for 22 years, I have seen first hand the excellent work done by Helping Hands on many many occasions. The staff are knowledgable and caring and closure of the service would be a huge loss to a deprived population
I've been a GP in the Wigston/South Wigston area for a number of years now and I've had hundreds of patients that have benefited from this vital resource. It is a huge asset to the area and helps those in our community that need it most.
I run the South Wigston foodbank , helping hands comes to every session to give help and advice. The loss of this service would be a travesty. We have had many referrals from them and with the new universal benefits starting next January a lot of people will be disadvantaged by not having this service.
Having volunteered at helping hands I became very aware of how important this service is to its users, the closure of such an important and vitally important advice centre would be detrimental to the surrounding community.
Brilliant service for anyone especially for people who do not meet the eligibility criteria for social care services. One stop place for disadvantaged people to access any support they need. Very efficient and professional staff who offer non judgemental and person centred support
This place and all the people that put so much energy, love and care for the people that find themselves in need is an asset to the area. For all the specialised advice and support that this place offers reminds us that all is not lost in this world. Keep this place open and let's raise awareness of just how excellent this service is.

If it wasn't for this place service and supportive advice and help I would not be able to get all my problems solved and resolved. Service received Is outstanding helpful and eased all my worries and concern.
