Our Founding fathers/mothers planned and made possible a first class citythat included Parks, Music,Arts, & Drama. They found a way to finance these vital programs and so should you.

It seems that the term "conservative" means lining the "good ol' boys" pocketbooks and doing away with community needs. So sad for our city (and state, for that matter).

When a newcomer to Tulsa, I gained a strong sense of community and pide in Tulsa, along with making many friends, through working with Heller Theatre. I became a part of the theater community, had the privilege of serving on George Kaiser's board for Actors Theatre, and participating in the events of the PAC. Without the Heller/Clark influence Tulsa would be a slightly less civilized city, even more devoted to the wishes of the moneyed few.

Our mayor is killing economic growth by removing by underfunding the city amenities that attract the younger generation to come and stay in Tulsa like the arts and available urban mass transit.

Who needs a city physician, a city manager, a city spokeswoman etc. get them out of the budget along with overpaid long term dept. head and we'll have plenty of money for the budget.

Tulsa has an incredible number of people who are imaginative and talented, and they need small venues like this to showcase their talents. Just look at the number of performers, actors, singers, directors, and playwrights we’ve produced. Our Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, Tracy Letts, got his training in a local theater in Tishamingo, Oklahoma, established by his dad, Dennis Letts, who was also an actor. One of the first things the politicians want to cut are the arts. They don’t seem to understand that the arts are the lifeblood of a community. They nourish our spirits, feed our souls, and connect us to others, but more importantly, to ourselves. Please sign this petition.
