The city leadership has officially reversed their decision and decided to reinstate the full schedule of festival weekends. This outcome is a testament to the thousands of people who refused to let these local traditions fade away. We have secured the future of these events but I encourage everyone to …

Glendale City Leadership is cancelling the three Glendale Glitters Holiday Weekends for 2018. These are the three weekends that traditionally follow the Glitters Opening Weekend. In addition, the Friday night of the Glendale Chocolate Affaire has also been cancelled.

These cancellations will result in loss of business for the local merchants and vendors and impact years of traditions of families attending these events.

One of the weekends to be removed is Glendale Glitters Spirit of Giving. This particular weekend provides nonprofits the opportunity to meet and provide information for their organization to tens of thousands of attendees. It is a weekend that allows attendees to give back during the holiday season and learn more about the dedicated programs these nonprofits provide.

Glendale Glitters award-winning holiday lighting event has become a family tradition for 25 years and attracts more than 250,000 visitors annually from all over the world. The stunning display of 1.6 million lights illuminates 16 blocks of Historic Downtown Glendale, making it the largest free holiday light display in Arizona.

We are asking folks who have ever attended or heard about Glendale Glitters to consider signing this petition asking the City Council to direct City Leadership to reinstate the cancelled events.

Your signature may help preserve decades of family traditions, allow nonprofits the opportunity to meet with thousands of people, and continue the long standing and positive impact these events have on the City of Glendale.

Thank you for your consideration. Our hope is to change decisions one voice/signature at a time.

We will not utilize any information provided in this petition in any other way than to provide the Glendale City Council proof that people do want to preserve the Magic of Glendale's Signature Festivals!

Ridiculous decision. This brings so much money into downtown. City leadership has no clue what they are doing.

What about the small businesses? They count on that holiday foot traffic to survive. Think about the local owners for once.
