We need more homes to accommodate the elderly not less ! With advances in medicine the older generation are living much longer , so we desperately need more provision for the elderly ! All too often people are offered a care package at home , which in some ways works well .... but is often very isolating when the only people a person might interact with are the carers going in up to 4 times a day , and through no fault of their own are giving a timescale to provide the necessary care and having no time at all to interact with their patient ! This is obviously the councils cheaper option , when in reality our elderly deserve so much more ! Surely common sense must prevail and they need to understand how important this home is to the community! Save Garth Olwg!

A home that supports the voice of the individuals that live there, by recognising their rights to recieve the quality care they need to reach their full potential , while living at Garth Olwg.

My first step into social care as an 18 year old in the seventies .Garth Olwg retains it good reputation.Notification of this is Les Williams moral bench. This was his home and many others. We are tomorrow's elderly.Keep us in the community where possibly. We dont all want huge centres to live in.Another land mark will be destroyed for what ?

Elderly people deserve a home for life and to feel safe in known surroundings. Not upheaval and uncertaincy. If it was your relative.......?

With a ageing population surely we should be looking at providing more elderly care in the area. Look at the vast amount of housing that has increased in the area since 1966 when the home was built and what additional housing they are trying to cramp into the area, where are people to go. There is a large amount of people who have lived in the area all our lives and surely in our older years we would be better to stay local to what people are familiar with. We need more care homes not less.
