Save the park. There are better options available for what they plan to build.

This project needs to stop immediately. We need to protect our natural space, trees, wetland areas and wildlife. This is not a good idea for our community at large and I strongly oppose developing this land, especially basically giving the land away for nothing, and benefitting very few people in our community. There are already baseball fields and those kinds of parks in Newark aplenty!!! And as a retired teacher of children, I love schools and what they do, but they can continue to utilize the many developed parks in existence.

This ballfield is counterproductive to the climate goals the city and county are after. Please consider a different site.

Do not give public land to private institutions for free, and do not destroy native wildlife for no reason. Repurpose land that is already free of trees.

I’ve lived at Villa Belmont Condominiums for 25 years. We were thrilled to get our lovely Folk Park a few years ago. Losing everything it offers would be a huge loss not only environmentally, but it goes against the sanctity of designated parkland. With the construction of these ball fields the traffic on Welsh Tract Road will be increased even more considering the traffic the two new WaWas will bring. This is a residential neighborhood that does not want these ball fields adversely affecting our quality of life. Leave our park alone and look elsewhere for the ball fields. Thank you! Charters original mission was academics. Sports mania has taken over everything. Can Newark High School even field a baseball team? Maybe they should become a sports academy.

Please consider the damage to the environment from removing the trees! We need what greenery we have left!

This new field is completely unnecessary.

This is not a good use of land/space. There are already adequate Ballpark areas that are not fully utilized.

We need to preserve parkland and trees as much as possible. I also do not agree with giving public land to a school, while "public:" limits its student population to those living within 5 miles.

There's many Ballparks in the immediate vicinity to use.

I oppose the resolution to give control over public land to Newark Charter school. These lands should remain open for public use in a time when the price of land in Newark is going through the roof. It's the city government's responsibility to protect our green spaces.

Agree we need to keep our wood areas Love Charter School- however, choose one of those sights already tree free.
