Please keep the permanent toilet attendants in post and save these facilities from potential closure in the future due to antisocial behaviour which occurs when facilities are left unmanned.

we probably have the best award winning toilet facilities in Scotland because they are staffed. We must keep them that way. They are something we can be proud of. Visitors are always so impressed when they make a visit. I will do all I can to help save them from becoming less than wonderful. A Huge thank you to all the staff who do a brilliant job.

intermittent cleaning is NOT good enough for a tourist town like North Berwick with the large numbers using the toilets after the beach

North Berwick toilets often strewn with paper and blocked when full time attendant is off duty for 4 days and the mobile unit is in charge. (pics available in Courier)What falls on the floor between mobile attendants stays on the floor till next visit. Full time attendant sweeps and cleans even in his lunch break!!

The toilets in all the East Lothian towns are remarked on as being outstanding. Often flowers in little containers and helpful attendants. Even if they stay open without an attendant there full time they will not be maintained to the same standard and blockages will occur and vandalism probably too. No town can exist without public toilets. The towns will soon get known by coach providers etc and financially they will loose income not save it which is the intention.

The public toilets are an essential public amenity and compared to many in the country, where there are any at all, they are notable for being clean, pleasant and usable. This is due in no small part to the presence and hard work of the permanent attendants. They are a reassuring and civilising presence and their loss would be a grave mistake for the county. A small charge would be a worthwhile price to maintain the current level of service and amenity.

Again a council that cannot think of better ways to save money. This folliws on like the car parking charges at the beaches, a waste of money. I bet they have never looked at saving money on the amount of meetings they attend. Our toilets attendance do a great job, let's support them.

during a very recent visit, friends from England commented that every public toilet they had used were the cleanest they had ever seen. It has prompted them to return next year for much more than a short break. Clean toilets do contribute to the tourist trade!

Safe and clean public toilets are a core service for a civilized country. Tell the Councillors what's really important, for the whole community and visitors.
