Save East Knox County

The planned 194 apartments that are to be built on Pleasant Hill Rd would be detrimental to our neighborhood and community. This area is also in the PTZ (Parental Transportation Zone) meaning no buses pick up in the morning. A lot of children walk or ride bikes to school. The proposed development will increase the number of children on the roads and more traffic making it extremely dangerous for the children. We also have a lot of elderly that walk their dogs and this will be dangerous for them as well. Anyone who has driven on Pleasant Hill Road knows how narrow it is, and that it already a high traffic road. 200 plus cars on this road would be hazardous. Everyone in the community knows that Carter Elementary School is already at max capacity and the pickup and drop off lines are a lengthy process. Last but not least, there is a natural spring on the proposed property that can be compromised and cause flooding to the existing properties. This will displace all the wildlife, once it's gone its gone. This development will be a huge travesty to our community! With only one large grocery store and three sit down restaurants we CANNOT support that volume of people with all the new developments coming in. We need wise development not overdevelopment.

I have lived in this community my entire 52 years. This development will directly affect my property. I live on Pleasant Hill Rd and Lyons Creek runs through my back yard. When we get a lot of rain it has came up in my yard. The runoff from the roads and storm drains will run into the creek producing much more and quicker runoff, which will potentially flood properties. Also this development is in the (PRZ) parental responsibility zone, so the busses do not stop. So all of the kids going to school if not being driven by a parent will have to walk. This road is small and that will be very dangerous. The extra traffic will be too much for the road. Pleasant Hill is already a very busy road, with dangerous pullouts and both stop signs. The end at Strawberry Plains pike is a blind hill. The Andrew Johnson end is at an angle onto a divided four lane, with Kitts Rd also coming into it just before a gas station. The intersection is already bad. I am good with growth but wise growth and until the roads and infrastructure is taken care of first this is too much for the community and Pleasant Hill Rd.

This development and developments coming thereafter will forever change the character of our community. Building high-density housing will lead to overdevelopment without a solid plan for other sectors of infrastructure. The community does not want this and we shouldn't be expected to allow it simply because an outside developer will make a lot of money. It does nothing for us.

Stop this development!

Stop overdeveloping.

This is totally unacceptable . It is right in the middle of homes already established and belongs away from private homes . Also it appears will be right cross from where o have my own home . The kids are already packed into the high school close by and traffic on strawberry plains is dangerously enough . I have witnessed at least three accidents there already. 194 aptartments is on,y going to make the situation here a Ready bad, . Pick some land for this away from private homes already established and also woth an easy safe in and out access . There is plenty of land away from this area for sale . This isNOT acceptable.! I chose to live where I do for the privacy and for safety .

I am opposed to the rezoning of 8934 Pleasant Hill Road from agricultural to residential.

The infrastructure can’t handle this and we don’t need another 194 units here

Not an appropriate location

No infrustructure to support more people. North Pleasant Hill is full of pot holes and hasn't been paved in over 35 years, two trucks can't pass Dump stays full, etc.

This development is not a good fit for our community at this time. There is no infrastructure to support the continual building. Our end of the county needs planning assistance for the outcome to be successfull for all concerned.

We do not want any more unaffordable and unwanted housing in East Tennessee.

I live at 8919 Pleasant Hill Rd. The apartments will be across the street from me. This will ruin our housing values and our beautiful neighborhood. Stop this from happening.

The residents in East Knoxs county don't want anymore development of Apartments or housing. The roads nor the schools can handle this. STOP THE BUILDING PROTECT OUR RUAL AREA AND FARM LAND. We don't want to be like West Knoxville.

These politicians love developing housing and no infrastructure. We are already overcrowded for our current infrastructure, but it never stops the political greed....

We need to save what farm land is left and preserve our community and surrounding communities. This extreme growth is affecting our roads, our land, traffic safety and the beauty of living in the country. Let’s fight to keep it country!!!

I have lived in this area for 49 years. The Carter community are in East Knox county does not have the infrastructure to handle the housing they are planning to build. Schools and Day cares in the area are already full and there are several house still being built. We have one major chain grocery store and a small grocery store in the area. Roads already can’t handle the volume of traffic. Most importantly when do we start leaving green areas and farms for the wildlife and animals in the area to live.
