Eagle Tower, the 75-foot observation tower at Peninsula State Park in Door County, has been closed because of safety concerns. The tower was built by hand in 1914 as a forest fire observation platform, using logs cut from the park. It was rebuilt by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. Portions of the tower were refurbished in the late 1970s and again in the mid-1990s.
We the undersigned want to support the rebuilding of Eagle Tower.

My husband and I got engaged on the Eagle Tower 16 years ago. Not only does it have sentimental value the views are absolutely beautiful from the top of the tower. We would be heart broken if it was just torn down. Please repair and keep the tower!
The tower draws visitors from around the world and offers a view like none other. I've enjoyed this unique view since 1955. The tower is a treasure that must be preserved. Certainly we of this more "advanced " age can continue this tradition !
My family has had a home and property in Door County since before my birth. Eagle Tower should be saved so that future generations can enjoy it's spectacular view. An elevator or lift would not be a bad decision if the rebuild budget allows.
Eagle Tower is such an iconic part of Peninsula State Park. I first climbed it over 50 years ago and have climbed it uncounted times since then for the spectacular view of the bay. If it can't be preserved ...it must be replaced.
This is a landmark that brings in so many visitors to the park. People come to the park specifically to see Eagle Tower. If you get rid of the tower, not only will you lose a lot of revenue, but you will destroy the memories of countless people.
Sad to see the tower go. It was a favorite place to visit on family trips. It will be nice that more people will be able to enjoy the views with the new tower.
This tower is a symbol of Peninsula State Park, Fish Creek and all of Door County. We want it back!

I live in northern Door County and buy the annual pass so I can take guests to the parks. I miss being able to climb the tower for the incredible view of the bay and peninsula and showing friends the beauty that explains why I live here. Please repair the tower.
