The transfer of libraries to a central institution has always negative consequences

The NINO is the most important institution in the Netherlands in our field.

We live in harsh times and should do nothing to weaken the teaching of the humanities, and of the ancient world.

NINO is too important for our studies and researches to be put at risk in the long term!

Nino is recognized worldwide as a major resource in the Egyptology and Near East archaeology fields, and must retain its independence as a specialized entity.

Hoogachtend, M.A.P. Meijer Hof Kunsthistoricus

I'm a firm believer in development, growth, improvement but in my own country (Belgium) I have seen where those very same arguments lead to. We are now a "cemetery" of libraries. I had to travel to the NINO to be able to do my research. And soon we will need to go where?
