At this time the city of Clinton has 195 homeless people this is supposed to help 24 of them! If they dont have money to have a place to live now how are they going to afford the $417.00 deposit and $417.00 rent per month? I am not against helping people but it needs to make sense to do so! Also no drug test and no id required to live right next to YWCA child care and the Discovery center and a retirement living center! No id or drug testing they say is illegal to renters! I have a ideal how about the city of Clinton create jobs for the 24 people to work and then they can require ids and drug testing and if they dont comply with working and staying out of trouble then they are evicted immediately! Also the community has the right to know if someone that is a rapist or child molester is living in there community! Also who is funding the bills if they do not have the building full? I am 100 percent against this project!

I'm sorry I'm not sorry, but Clinton doesn't need anymore of this type of stuff here. What happened to the Clinton Iowa I've grown up in for 46yrs.

When the land where DeWitt park is was donated to the city of Clinton it was intended to be used as a park. This land has been and should continue to be a park

Get real, if you think this will help “grow” Clinton your Likely part of the problem. Too many risks and not enough reward to consider moving forward. Dewitt park deserves to be left alone. Many well grown trees and nice area for the folks next door.

I would be all for this project if there were rules and limitations i.e drug testing, counseling, making these people work & limit how long they can live there to give them time to get on their feet; more guidance. This project is simply enabling the problem not helping. Taking this historical park away from the public, especially the elderly that live behind it is disgusting. Nobody would want to look out their window and see that. We need to advocate for them and the rest of our citizens. They can build this anywhere they want in the county. Leave the parks alone. Utilize one of the many empty buildings around here instead of letting them rot from the inside out.

This needs to be stopped. Please reach out to see FULL DETAILS of why from those wrong to speak the truth. Erin Land George and Rhonda A Kearns are the only two willing to be forthcoming so far....

There are far more appropriate places to build that facility. Leave our green spaces alone. The seniors in that building enjoy going there just to get out of their apartments for a big. It's the only place they have. Most of them don't drive. Why do you always have to destroy and not preserve.

This is a disgrace! To the community Ada whole and to the elderly that would have to live by the individuals who would occupy the space! And to not be subjected to drug testing or background checks! There is also day care and the discovery centers there!! I have also contacted the trees forever and we will fight this!! The YWCA’s will also be at risk if this project fails which is a very likely thing to happen!! Most of these homeless people don’t want the help offered to them by the hospitals because they Don’t want to comply by the rules!! Stope the nonsense YWCA and mayor !!!

Absolutely No, We do not need another build it and they will come in a city park, near children and community that will be adversely affected. The City Admin overstepped his bounds in recommending this site and owes the citizens an explanation and apology as well as does the council for allowing it.

Why build something that going to end up a spot for the druggies to come and do drugs together because drug addicts r the homeless ppl they choose drugs over everything and not to mention the damage they will do to the building and it will end up condemned them anyways it a waste of money. Why not build something that teens can do.
