Agreed, the statue stays. When statues of Lincoln, Frederick Douglas, other abolitionists, the Massachusetts 54th regiment, Teddy Roosevelt are being destroyed or removed, it's clear this has nothing to do with justice. It's an attack on America. Enough.

Future generations cannot learn history if current generations erase our history. Nobody made the individuals advocating for the removal of statues and the sanitizing of history the prosecutor, judge and jury to render these decisions. The way to advancement and improvement is to understand history and then change the future actions that are deemed necessary to be changed.

A healthy society needs to preserve the moral and cultural resources it has received from the past. A society's ability to deal with the present is entirely dependent on the moral and cultural resources it has received from the past. Erasing the historical memory of a people is the work of totalitarians. Stand up for our heritage, in all it’s complexity and stand up to the mob. They seek power, not justice.

Columbus did not commit treason against this country.
