We've been so lucky to have the opportunity to take part in a world-class garden event like ours.
It's been a long road getting a quality flower show in Christchurch, and I believe we'll really struggle to get another of such a high standard if we lose this one.
This is the online petition, where those of us who are keen to keep the flower show in Christchurch can have our voices heard.
If you've enjoyed the show in the past, please take a minute out of your day to add your name to the petition here.
If you felt comfortable ‘signing’ the petition, that would be great. And also, if you felt comfortable, could you ask your friends and family to support the petition?
It'll take less than a minute, and every name makes a real difference.
Thanks for your support

I have been spending my mornings reading through your memories of the gardens and the color the show brings to our city. It is heartbreaking to think of losing that vibrancy when we have worked so hard to build it up. I am currently gathering these stories to present to the council so they see exactly what they are threatening to throw away.

Watching this list grow reminds me of the first time I walked through those vibrant gardens with my own family. We are nearing a crucial threshold that will catch the attention of the council members who are deciding the fate of this event. Please send the link to your inner circle right now so we can hit that mark before they meet.

Ellerslie is one of the most important identities that makes us, as a new comer in Christchurch, to fully understand the name, "garden city".....especially in these developing post-earthquake days
As a floral designer i value the opportunity this show gives designers to show case their skills. I heard only positive reports from those I knew that wento this years show. Canterbury is in a building stage and we need Ellerslie to grow and evolve with it. It would be a sad day to see the garden City loose this show.
I have been to elleslie the last 3 years. I keep going back because it has such a great mix of garden, fashion, etc, lovely setting and a relaxing day out. I take a special annual leave day in order to go.
This show is the building block to many careers and businesses here in Canterbury and worldwide. To lose the show would take away future business and tourism that the district really needs. As an exhibitor, the success continues long after the show and is a vital part to our business and the future young business people out there
After the successful 2014 show format & being a part of the new School Garden exhibits, it would be such a shame to not realise the potential for an even better, bigger show next year. The public really did enjoy the show & I think we are on the positive post quake comeback. One more year to prove this at least!!!
To throw away the garden show is like throwing away the opportunity to be recognised again as the Garden City"

Let it go now and it will be gone for ever. It isn't just the cash from ticket sales but the injection to the whole Canterbury economy. The local economy is very dependant on the agricultural sector now, the flower show is a chance for other sectors to contribute as well as be a showcase for the province.
