Cambs County Council has a responsibility to these children and if this reorganisation is allowed to go ahead they will be failing them in every imaginable way.

Sensory support services within Cambridgeshire are essential to maintain anything close to LA fulfilling its duty for inclusion and accessibility of children with vision or autitory impairment within a mainstream school environment. The LA will fail vulnerable children who currently use the service in addition to those that will need it in the future. My child has complex needs and one of them is vision impairment with an expectation that vision will become worse during an unknown time scale. My child has had access to the sensory service including specialist vi teacher during time at school and the teacher has at times been the only reliable and consistent professional interested and supporting my child during some very difficult and challenging times when mainstream school has failed. By comparison my child has not received a similar level of consistent support from any other service for the complexities and challenges and as a result my child has actually experienced detriment from time at school due failings from the mainstream environment and absence of any viable appropriate support services despite having a statement of special educational need. My child now is unable to attend school and has further complications from unmet needs which is an example of what children that only have vision and hearing impairments could look forward to experiencing should the LA take forward their proposals for the sensory service. It is from my experience the not service that is working. So, should be maintained with views of improving further. LA would do well to use the model for sensory service to improve other support service including those for children with neurodiversity including but not exclusively ASCs, ADHD, Dyslexia and

I support this petition in full. It is critical to keep ongoing services in place. This is short-termism, it will cost central government more in the log term as thes young people will not succeed in education without support. Parents must have time to consider the proposals and make a response. This is natural justice and A6 Human Rights 1998 will be breached if this is disallowed.

I am appalled at this proposition and sincerely hope it is thrown out. Deaf and blind children need and deserve the support, just as any child with any other disability.

Children are our future - even blind or deaf children have a contribution to make. It is wrong to deny them a chance to live in a normal world.
